In less than 30 days I will have witnessed the Battle of Hogwarts playing out before my eyes. I would have eaten homemade cauldron cakes and drunk copious amounts of butterbeer. I will have dressed up in my house colours and sat in silence as the music played for the last time. I will have seen Ron and Hermione share the kiss I have waited for since I was six years old. In less than thirty days Voldemort will be dead. In less than thirty days, Harry and Ginny will introduce us to James, Albus Severus and Lily. And Ron and Hermione will introduce us to Hugo and Rose. And we will see a Draco Malfoy where the world has given him something back for his lost childhood. And we will meet a generation of new characters who we are left to make up adventures for. In less than thirty days, for the last time, there will be an outpouring of Wizards and Witches all over the world with tear-streamed faces and smiles. Smiling because we’ve all done it together. Smiling because we’ve lived a life worth living with Harry and Ron and Hermione and Draco and Ginny and Neville and Luna and Fred and George and a whole world of characters. And even though we’ve lost so many along the way, we’ll keep on smiling, from the times we’ve had with them.
